Discrimination against minorities（少数民族） is deeply rooted in America. The unemployment rate among African Americans doubles that of whites. An investigation made in 1996 indicated that 90 percent of the chief executives（主管） or managers of U.S. companies have never given any black people the same status and responsibilities as whites.

Sexual Discrimination

There are both state and federal laws stating that you cannot be denied employment due to your gender. Specifically, an employer cannot refuse to hire or promote you for a job for which you are qualified based upon your gender. One form of gender discrimination is sexual harassment.
